Marriage of Unusual Interest
L. L. Brigance

At 10 o'clock, Wednesday morning, July 30, at the home of the bride's brother, Larimore Brown, in Pulaski, Tenn., N. B. Hardeman and Mrs. Ann Ward were united in marriage. The simple ceremony that made them husband and wife was said by L. L. Brigance in the presence of a few relatives and friends. Immediately after the marriage they departed for New Orleans, where Brother Hardeman had a preaching engagement. After a few days they will be at home to their friends at Henderson, Tenn.

Brother Hardeman is too well known throughout the brotherhood to need any comment, but it is not out of order to introduce "Miss Annie," as she is called by her Henderson friends. When a young lady a score or more years ago, she came to Henderson and entered the faculty of Freed-Hardeman College as assistant to Mrs. Hardeman in the department of music. While "Miss Joe" was out of school for a year, she became head of the department. While engaged in this work she was married to S, A. Ward, a successful businessman of Henderson and cousin of Brother Hardeman. After her husband's death a few years later, she went back to her old home in Lynnville, Tenn" where she has lived ever since.

"Miss Annie" (Ann nowadays) is an attractive woman, good-looking, intelligent, cultured. She was reared in a good Christian home, and has been a faithful member of the church of Christ since early life. Brother Hardeman's friends and relatives in Henderson who know her as well as him think he could have made no better selection for a wife.

Mrs. Hardeman is buried at the Lynnwood Cemetery, Lynnville, Giles County, Tennessee USA. It's north of Pulaski. Coming from Pulaski on Highway 31, after you pass the First Baptist Church building in Lynnville, turn left at the last drive and go to the top of the hill near the back. The grave marker is next to a large upright marker of John Thomas Brown, father of Annie Brown Ward Hardeman.
