Burt Isom was from Corinth, MS. Prior to his entrance into full-time ministry, he preached on Sundays for several congregations in the Corinth, MS area. He preached full-time for the West Corinth and Mathiston, MS, as well as Hazlehurst and other congregations outside of Mississippi. He was married to Mildred Burns who died in 2008. They have three children: Nancy, Janis, and Paul.
Brother Isom died January 23, 1988 in Florence, AL. His family donated his library to Magnolia Bible College.

Florence, Ala. Burton Bryant isom, 73, died Saturday afternoon at Humana Hospital in Florence. He was a member of the East Wood church of Christ and was a Church of Christ minister. Servies will be at 2 p.m. today at the Foote Street Church of Christ in Corinth with minister Gene Thornton and Charles Kretzer officating. Burial will be in Corinth City Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
