Willis Leander Reeves
W. L. Reeves was born on a farm near Gadsden, Tenn., Nov.
24, 1871. His parents were among the foremost citizens of
their community; strong intellectually and morally, and for

zealous.

religious atmosphere was such that he became a Christian
early in life, having been baptized at the age of fourteen
by T. E. Scott.
His father died when he was twelve years of age. and he and
his brothers worked on the farm and managed to spend the
winter months in school.
At the age of twenty, he took the normal course in the
Dixon Normal College, at Dixon, Tenn. after which he taught
for three years. During this time he was a Bible student, a
faithful worker in the church and occasionally preached. He
took a course under Ashley S. Johnson in the Bible and
History, since which time he has spent ten years preaching
in Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.
He is a clear, forceful speaker. His efforts are to present
the Gospel in its purity.
