Denton Neal
Denton M. Neal, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Claude Neal,
was born March 3, 1913 in Maury City, Tennessee. He
attended school there until he moved to Jackson, Tennessee
and was graduated from Jackson High School in 1930.
Brother Neal then came to Freed- Hardeman, was active in
all phases of college life, athletics, music, and
Preacher's Club and graduated in 1932, having taken a
pre-law course.
Brother Neal directed singing in meetings throughout the
South for a number of years and began preaching in 1935
while being associated with Brother A. H. Maner and the
Church in Mobile, Alabama. He first worked with the Bay
Minette, Alabama congregation.
Since that time, he has been with congregations in
Tuckerman and Blytheville, Arkansas, Portsmouth, Ohio,
Lakeland, Florida, Washington, D. C., and is now with the
Central Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Radio programs have
been a feature of his work in each place.
Brother Denton was at one time President of NE. Ark. SE.
Mo. F. H. C. Alumni Association and is at present,
President of the West Tennessee Association.
